Come Walk for Exercise We are walking on the bike trail every Monday and Wednesday at 9 am.

New: Low Vision Support Group Fourth Tuesday of month at 10:30

Senior Center is now open on Sunday afternoons from 12:30-5:00 Need something to do on a Sunday afternoon. Come to the Senior Center and play games, read a book, watch a movie, and socialize with others.

Thursday Game Night (with Pizza on the first Thursday) Call the Center (845-7471) and let them know how many slices you want. $2 per slice.

Enjoy a Friendly Game of Cards Poker on Mondays; Euchre on Tuesdays; Bridge on Wednesdays; 500 on Thursdays. Also Mexican Train Dominoes on Wednesdays

Morning Coffee Hour Come for coffee and treats at 9:00 am every weekday morning at the Senior Center.

NEW -VISITING SHUTTLE Monthly opportunity to take the shuttle to visit friends at local senior apartments, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. Call the Center for more information.

Volunteer Drivers Are Needed Deliver Meals on Wheels Lunches or help by driving seniors to medical appointments. Contact Alasa at 845-7471 for details.

Club 108 Club 108 at the Verona Senior Center. Club 108 is a program for individuals with early memory loss. The program meets on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. There is no cost for the Club, but lunch is included during the program for $5. If you are interested in enrolling or have questions, please contact our case manager, Becky Losby, at 845-7471.

Monthly Support Groups The Verona Senior Center offers a support group for persons living with or caring for family members with Parkinson's Disease; Caregiver Support Group; Low Vision Support Group; and a Healthy Living Discussion Group. No registration required and drop in’s are welcomed. Contact Becky Losby (845-7471 for details. Check the Chronicle or the complete monthly calendar on the website for dates and times.

PLANNING AHEAD

Come to Verona Hometown Days and support the VAAA by visiting our Strawberry Cart First Weekend in June. We will be there on Thursday 4:30- 8:30 PM, Friday 4:30-8:30 PM and Saturday 10:30 AM-8:30 PM. Also we need volunteers to help with this fundraiser

The Verona Area Active Adults is seeking to add one or more members to its Board of Directors. The VAAA serves the Verona Senior Center in many ways. Nominate yourself or suggest someone you think would be a great Board member. If you want more information on the VAAA and the responsibilities of Board members, talk with one of the current Board members. Submit nominations to the VAAA president, Louis Eifert, at the Senior Center.

Literature Lovers Book Club On 2nd Wednesday of month at 12:30 we have book discussion led by Maggie Heckelsmiller of the Verona Library.

Affordable Fitness Classes for Persons of All Abilities We offer a variety of fitness classes. Call 845-7471 or click on the "Activities" tab above for details.

Movies and Popcorn Too Each month we show several movies on our big screen. See "Event Calendar" above - for this month's movies

Volunteer Opportunities The VAAA and the Senior Center depend heavily on volunteers. The VAAA needs help in organizing and managing events. The Senior Center needs volunteers to help with all of its programs. Volunteering is fun and rewarding, as well as being essential to the Center. Check with a staff member or a VAAA Board member for volunteer opportunities
