News from the Center

Paoli Street Pickers Holiday Celebration December 14 at 12:30. The pickers will take a break and there will be no Monday music until march.

Senior Center is now open on Sunday afternoons from 12:30-5:00 (Opens at noon when there is an early Packer game shown on the big screen.)

Volunteer Help Wanted The Senior Center needs reception desk help on Wednesdays from 8:30-10:00. No experience necessary. Call Jennifer for details. 845-7471

Pilates Workshop "Movement for Life" Monthly sessions. Next session December 1 at 12:15. Check with Jennifer for details.

Interested in Playing Chess with Other Seniors? Let Jennifer or Mary know.

Thursday Game Night (with Pizza on the first Thursday) Call the Center (845-7471) and let them know how many slices you want. $2 per slice.

Sing-a-Long with Leon! Once a month come to sing favorite tunes with Leon McGregor. Next sing-a-long will be on Wednesday, December 23 at 12:30.

New Class: Line Dancing Thursdays at 3:30;

Mexican Train Dominoes Play every Wednesday at 1 pm. Beginners welcome.

Morning Coffee Hour Come for coffee and treats at 9:00 am every weekday morning at the Senior Center.

Living Well with Chronic Conditions Six session class on Tuesday mornings beginning October 6.

Club 108 We are excited to announce the opening of Club 108 at the Verona Senior Center. Club 108 is a program for individuals with early memory loss. The program meets on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. There is no cost for the Club, but lunch is included during the program for $5. We currently have openings for this program. If you are interested in enrolling or have questions, please contact our case manager, Becky Losby, at 845-7471.

We Need More Driver Escorts RSVP and the Senior Center provide transportation to medical appointments. If you are interested in becoming a driver escort, call Jennifer.

Monthly Support Groups The Verona Senior Center offers a support group for persons living with or caring for family members with Parkinson's Disease ; Caregiver Support Group for persons caring for a family member or friend; and a Healthy Living Discussion Group . Volunteer Opportunities The VAAA and the Senior Center depend heavily on volunteers. The VAAA needs help in organizing and managing events. The Senior Center needs volunteers to help with all of its programs. Volunteering is fun and rewarding, as well as being essential to the Center. Check with a staff member or a VAAA Board member for volunteer opportunities
