Holding Space: Bringing the Moon and Mars to Verona

By: The UW-Madison Geology Museum
Monday, December 10 at 10:00 AM

For many years, our focus as a nation was to put a human on the Moon. Currently scientists and explorers have their eyes on Mars. Come learn about the Apollo moon landing missions, the Mars rover missions, and the importance of putting humans on Mars in this 40 minute presentation.

Also the UW Geology Museum, in partnership with NASA, is collecting stories from people in the community who might remember experiencing the moon landings (through TV, radio, etc.). If you would like to share your story with us, we will be bringing audio recording equipment to preserve your experience!

Finally, we would love to share our museum with you by giving a free, space-centric tour on

We are trying to establish two music days every month in the upcoming 2019 event calendar. Although we know this will be a wonderful addition, it will take additional money to achieve.

There are monies from memorials which have been designated to music, however, we need a bit more. If you would like to see our Senior Center provide two music days per month, we ask you to consider donating to the Friends of Verona Senior Center.

You can pick up a form at the front desk and one of our volunteers will assist you. Thank you for any assistance you can give us.

Do you like to paint or use colored pencils?

We have a gentlemen that would like to paint small wooden boxes with you!
These will be painted with pictures of butterflies, owls, or flowers.
You choose the design!
We have an example at the front desk if you would like to see what this is all about!
If you are interested in this please call Alasa Wiest at 845-7471.
