Triad Events

This month (September) we will not have a TRIAD event here at the senior center, however the

RSVP/Triad of Dane County & Triad of Wisconsin Crime Prevention & Safety Conference and Expo

  • will be held on September 28th, 2018 from 8am-3pm
  • at the American Family Insurance Building, 6000 American Parkway, Madison WI.
  • Early bird registration, $25 by 9/1, $35 after, however scholarships are available upon request.
  • Registration information is found at www.rsvpdane.org.
    • There are also registration packets at the senior center.
  • Continental breakfast & lunch is included.
  • Door prizes.

This is an informative conference with breakout sessions such as

  • active shooter,
  • personal safety,
  • estate planning /frauds & final arrangements,
  • scam & prevention,
  • issues related to long term care in nursing home and assisted living facilities,
  • prescription drug & opioid abuse epidemic,
  • hording task force,
  • dementia friendly communities,
  • elder victim and abuse coalitions,
  • diversity & reducing conflict,
  • old & alone: strategies for connection
    • (social and community resources to include social media and activity groups).

Door prizes, vendors and exhibit’s with lots of information.
Continental breakfast & lunch is included.

Come and meet Drea, Verona’s very own Police K9 and her handler & partner, Officer Matt Kile.  Drea will demonstrate how she sniffs out narcotics, and Officer Kile will discuss how Drea works to help the Verona Police Department solve cases and prevent crime.  Officer Kile and K9 Drea will be here on Wednesday,  August 1 at 12:30.  We won’t “hound” you about it, but we do hope to see you there!
